CAR T-Cell Therapy Target Discovery with Machine Learning
Developed an algorithm that ranks CAR T-cell therapy targets on the basis of predicted efficacy for autoimmune diseases using single cell RNA sequence data. I learned machine learning from scratch that summer after recieving an NSERC fund to do research on the topic, and was able to finish it by the end of the term and even present it in the live stream of Scleroderma Canada in world scleroderma day of 2024!
RhythmGuard: Detecting Arrhythmia with TinyML
A Proof of Concept Capstone project consisting of a machine learning model on an ESP32 that detects and classifies arrhythmia instances from ECG and PPG signals.
Ask Those Who Tried: A Guide to Choosing Your University Major
Upon being overwhelmed by possible career paths, I conducted a qualitative research project in which I interviewed over 100 individuals about their chosen field of study, their satisfaction levels, and the reasons behind their satisfaction levels. Due to the project's success and the great insight obtained, I compiled and published the results into a book which ended up being sold in my high school.
Friendship Bracelet Solver
Created a recursive constraint satisfaction problem style (CSP) algorithm that determines the knot combination needed, as well as the initial order of threads, to obtain a user-provided friendship bracelet pattern.
Gait Assessor
In my third-year design course, we (a group of 4) created a gait assessor device for cerebral palsy patients using a simple ESP32 microcontroller and a BNO055 orientation sensor. We used MATLAB for signal processing and for creating the UI. At the end, we successfully saw clear patterns between normal gait and abnormal gait!
Automated Web Test Cases
Facilitated routine testing for a student information system platform by creating 28 automated test cases with Java and Selenium and found over 20 bugs, some of which were high priority.
Paper Speaker Device
In this second year circuits project, I created a functional speaker using nothing but paper, tape, magnets, and a Dollar Store wire.
Discord Anti-Bullying Bot
When 3 or more users react to a message with a potato emoji, these are considered votes that the message is bullying, which makes the bot send a comeback picked randomly from a txt file with comeback lines. Anyone can add to the combacks list and the name of each contributor is stored for security purposes. Because the bot had more evil audience, I added some bullying features, such as meme making (my favorite, create a meme in a second), joining a voice chat for pranking with a game voiceline, and some useful features like automatically sending the contents of a reddit post when a link is shared and the feature of inverting the colors of an image.
Student Number Iterator
In this second year circuits project, I displayed each digit in my student number on a 7-segment display using nothing but sequential logic.
